finish my 306 and 406 projects for me

people have been wondering

what it will take for me to finish my gundam

here's what i need
4 cans of spraypaint
1 bottle of paint thinner
1 micron pen
BUTTLOADS OF TIME

i can't place a dollar value on time, but the thinner and pen will be about $2 each and the spray paint is $3 a can.

so i end up paying more for detailing the model than buying the damn thing

but at least my desk will be safe from the forces of evil

tips for aspiring kickass gundam modellers

there are two very important rules to remember when you're going to build a gundam model:

1. don't start assembling anything before you decide to paint the damn thing
2. DON'T START ASSEMBLING ANYTHING BEFORE YOU DECIDED TO PAINT THE DAMN THING

yeah...much unnecessary stress has been caused by my decision to paint AFTER i assembled 10 parts


also

you shouldn't paint a model if you're ocd

i've painted and then thinned about 5 pieces because they didn't look perfect

they probably looked fine

but not to me


i've come up with the following rules for making a part look really sexy (if you
screwed it up the first time):

1. thin it
2. paint it
3. ink it
4. glue it
5. don't look at it again until you have to start assembling


so,

keep that advice in mind in case you decide to ever paint a model, you lazy bums

so i'm happy now
all i would possibly need to fill out the collection is zeno and his spell book... but they're friggin impossible to find... but at least they also stick out like a sore thumb! (silver ftw)

i doubt suncoast will keep the dvd's i want long enough for me to afford them
because they suck like that

3. bought some paint
AND PAINTED MY GUNDAM (mostly)

it's teh sex now

thought i lost a piece, and ended up crawling around the floor for 45 minutes
turns out it was in a ziploc bag the entire time -- and i put it there *big smile*

all the pieces i painted black turned out PERFECTLY but i'm being ocd about some of the pieces i painted white

oh well, more quality time to spend with my paintbursh and some thinner


4. finished a significant portion of my 306 project, significantly quickly


5. went to see the producerses for $1.50
AND
may have become the proud owner of the poster
(they'll get back to me tomorrow... i want it now!)


that was my day
